New born and Vaastu:

New born and Vaastu

What has Vaastu to do with newborns? Surprised? Well, if you understand that Vaastu is about the way of living (वास करना) and not only about making/breaking house, it will all start making sense in a whole different way. After all, a house is just a place where we live.

It has been commonly observed that kids and toddlers are often irritated and angry. Having stress in the life of a 5–7 years old kid is becoming the norm. I have seen kids of age 10 having seizures due to anxiety. Puberty is hitting much earlier than in the past generation. In short, children are becoming adults much faster.

Around March 2022 scientists found microplastic in human blood for the first time. Many articles in the top newspaper were titled “Scientists find microplastics in blood for the first time”. Of the total samples “half of the blood samples showed traces of PET plastic, widely used to make drink bottles”.  We have polluted oceans to Mount Everest and now we are polluting our own blood.

Pollution begins right when a child is born. Children are given plastic toys to play with. Of course, these toys are marked “safe” for children, but are they really “safe’? It is a common thing for a kid to take whatever they have in their hand, into their mouth. Months-old babies are given pacifiers and a little later we give them tethers. All the things are made of plastic. The bottle they drink milk in, and the nipple that they suckle, are all made of plastic and rubber. If we give any thought to it, it is very easy to understand the amount of exposure our kids have to plastic. If our kids are exposed to such materials, what do we expect? Anxiety, irritability, anger, early puberty, rage, and an early onslaught of chronic diseases like hypertension, diabetes, etc are given consequences.

In our culture, we are very conscious of what we touch and how we touch it. As for kids, it is MOST important that they are given the necessary ingredients to shape their lives well. What can we do to make sure that our newborn becomes a star in the future?

  1. Neem pacifier: These are commercially available or one can be made by a local carpenter. It was commonly used till 40-50 years back. Children constantly suck on pacifiers and the amazing properties of neem are known to all. This will not only save toddlers from undue exposure to plastic, but it will also make them stronger and immune to many diseases. If for some reason neem pacifiers are not available, other wooden pacifiers can be used.

In fact an internationally acclaimed book “Neem: A Tree for Solving Global Problems” was published by “Nap Lombard” to highlight the importance of neem in solving global problems!!!

  1. Neem tether: Again, the concept is the same. As micro components of neem sip through the child’s mouth, it makes children immune to a lot of diseases. As the teeth are about to come out, children try to bite everything very hard. Actually, it is said that when children try to bite hard on wood, they grow their teeth faster and stronger.

  1. Silver toys: Sucking of silver, eating in silver, putting silver in your mouth, and contact with silver, calms a person. More so with toddlers and kids. Modern research has proven that silver brings natural calmness along with balancing moods and increasing energy levels. Silver’s inherent properties help improve blood circulation, maintain general body temperature equilibrium, and cancel out electrical disturbances in the environment.

To increase the effectiveness of silver toys, they can be wrapped in Bel Patra, Tulsi leaves, or neem leaves. Wrapping in Bel Patra for a day before letting your kids play with it, will instill meditativeness of Shiva in kids, and wrapping in Tulsi leaves it to make them charming like Krishna.

  1. Cotton Dolls: Cotton dolls are a significant upgrade from plastic/rubber / synthetic dolls. These dolls can be easily made at home or bought on the internet. For the uninitiated, cotton regulates energy (vital life force or prana) much better than any other fabric.

  1. Feeding bottles: The trend of breastfeeding is on the decline worldwide. There is NO food for infants like mother’s milk. However, feeding bottles are common these days and like all other things, they are made of plastic. After every use bottle is put in boiling water for sanitizing. This degrades bottles, no matter how good the quality of plastic is. There is no substitute for a mother feeding a child directly. If that is not possible, it should be tired that the child is fed by spoon. This is a big task, but practically possible. If it is not possible for someone, use of stainless steel or silver bottle with normal nipples should be done. Putting plastic in an infant/toddler/kid’s mouth, in any format, must be an absolute NO-NO.

Wao Bhaiya, now this was an unexpected article here! Very informative, thought provoking. Could you please write something on expecting or trying to conceive women, like diet, lifestyle, spiritual aspects etc. Or something that didn't occur to us - your readers.
